At Wallbit, we want your finances to be as useful as the cash in your pocket. That’s why you can make QR payments for your everyday purchases and expenses directly through the app.
You can use your USD account balance to pay for everyday purchases quickly and conveniently, with one of the most competitive exchange rates available.
For now, this feature is available in the following countries:
Argentina
Brazil
Colombia (Bre-B only)
Bolivia
Peru
QR payments are a faster and more convenient way to make payments and transfers. Each country has its own payment methods, but in the countries where this feature is currently available, QR payments follow the local payment process.
IMPORTANT: In Colombia, QR payments are only enabled for terminals and services within the Banco de Colombia Bre-B system. Make sure the QR code belongs to this system to avoid failed payments.
What do I need to make a QR payment?
QR payments are available to all Wallbit users in supported countries. If you haven’t activated your account yet, you’ll need to meet the following requirements to make QR payments:
Active and verified account. You must have completed Wallbit’s identity verification (KYC) process.
USD balance. You must have available funds in your USD balance in the app.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a foreigner: as long as you have funds in your Wallbit account, you can make QR payments in supported countries without any additional steps.
How do I pay with a QR code?
Paying with Wallbit is as easy as using a local digital wallet, while using your global USD funds:
Scan the QR code. Open the app and select the QR Payment button at the bottom of the main screen. Then, scan the merchant’s QR code.
Automatic conversion. The app will detect the amount in the local currency (ARS, BRL, BOL) and show you the real-time conversion to USD.
Confirm the payment. Review the transaction details and confirm the payment.
How long does a QR payment take?
QR payments are instant. Just like a debit card payment or an instant transfer, the merchant receives payment confirmation immediately, and the transaction appears in your Wallbit transaction history right away.
What happens if my QR payment fails?
Although QR payments are highly reliable, you may occasionally experience an issue. If this happens:
Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
Make sure your USD balance is sufficient to cover the full purchase amount.
If the issue persists, take a screenshot of the QR code and note the merchant’s name, then contact us through the in-app support chat so we can assist you right away.
If you have any additional questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team.
